    Buy a Chinese Restaurant in Texas on Ebay for $63,000!

    Chinese Restaurant for Sale Ebay Posting

     The Green Oaks Chinese Buffet in Arlington, Texas has put itself on sale on Ebay for $63,000 (until July 26, 2007), which is sort of an unusual move. Most Chinese restaurants are sold either by word of mouth or through advertising through the Chinese print media. Ebay is not the most obvious place to do a Chinese restaurant transaction. But why not? Weirder things have been advertised on Ebay.  

     Since the Ebay description will expire soon within a month. Here is the full text of the ad.

    “Been in business since 1993. Remodeled in 2004 4900 sq. feet restaurant, steady business, excellent location.Currently a Chinese buffet. Rent is $5415.00 ($13.50 per sq ft) plus CAM, Property Tax and Insurance.
    The property owner pays water bills and grease trap. For convenience, there is a small dumpster, w/ trash pick-up 2x a week. Utility (Elec. & Gas) runs an average of $2800.00 per month. Lease will end April 2009 w/ five year options. Owner will work with new tenant to finish out and for new terms.
