He interviews Phil Bennett, managing editor of The Washington, Post, who talks about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/nation\/articles\/2006\/04\/30\/bush_challenges_hundreds_of_laws\/\" title=\"Bush challenges hundreds of laws\">fantastic series of stories<\/a> that <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charlie_Savage\" title=\"Charlie Savage\">Charlie Savage<\/a> did on George Bush&#8217;s expansion of executive power through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pulitzer.org\/year\/2007\/public-service\/works\/\" title=\"Public Service Pulitzer 2007\">signing statements<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0as a subtle substitution to line-item vetoing. And he also interviews Michael Miller, page one editor of The Wall Street Journal, about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pulitzer.org\/year\/2007\/public-service\/\">options backdating series<\/a>. Both those won Pulitzers this year. (Charlie, incidentally, was in my freshman writing class, so I&#8217;m particularly\u00c2\u00a0proud of him.\u00c2\u00a0Yay!). And tucked in at the end is\u00c2\u00a0a transition &#8212; &#8220;but they don&#8217;t all have to be that serious&#8221; &#8212; to an interview about my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2005\/04\/10\/fashion\/10date.html?ex=1270785600&amp;en=37be779e04f07228&amp;ei=5088\" title=\"Man Date\">man date<\/a> story (the 2005 Sunday Story\u00c2\u00a0story that seems to have eternal life).
