Sensitive, Emo-centric Peter (Paul Rudd) who finds himself distraught on the eve of his proposal finds that he has no male friends to be his best man. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>His brother, played by Andy Samberg, tells him to find cool guys. &#8220;Take them on a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2005\/04\/10\/fashion\/10date.html\">man date<\/a> &#8212; just a meal, or drinks, it&#8217;s not like you&#8217;re taking them to watch The Devil Wears Prada.&#8221; Thus, he sets out on a series of &#8220;Man Dates&#8221; to find his Best Man, which eventually leads him to Dave Negal.<\/p>\n<p>The LATimes did a <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/2008\/jul\/27\/entertainment\/ca-bromance27\">write-up last July about the trend in bromantic films,<\/a> which it attributes to Judd Apatow&#8217;s success.<\/p>\n<p>So now &#8220;Man date&#8221; has been used in ER, Rescue Me, Gilmore Girls, and the advertising for Cave Men (though that is not confirmed). Some people inspire Hollywood <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hotel_Rwanda\">by their courageous needs<\/a>.
