Like An Eggroll on the Outside&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I decided, when I was in Philadelphia, to stop for my favorite Philly-Chinese snack &#8212; the Philadelphia Cheesesteak Roll, which basically looks like an egg roll on the outside&#8230;.I headed to the Evergreen Chinese Restaurant (4726 Spruce St, Philadelphia), where <a href=\"http:\/\/philadelphia.menupages.com\/restaurantdetails.asp?areaid=0&amp;restaurantid=39912&amp;neighborhoodid=232&amp;cuisineid=0\">you can see on their Menupages<\/a> entry it is listed for $1.25 (quite a bargain).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Philly Cheesesteak Roll Evergreen by jenny8lee, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/jenny8lee\/3027748597\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3016\/3027748597_dfbd3f9491.jpg\" alt=\"Philly Cheesesteak Roll Evergreen\" width=\"350\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nAnd indeed, you can see it looks like an egg roll from the outside. It&#8217;s basically onion, shredded meat (beef?) and a creamy light cheese.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Philly Cheesesteak Roll by jenny8lee, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/jenny8lee\/3027759349\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3057\/3027759349_382a60e2ce.jpg\" alt=\"Philly Cheesesteak Roll\" width=\"350\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They also sell a much <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recipezaar.com\/Philly-Cheesesteak-Spring-Roll-221855\">more expensive version of this at the Four Seasons<\/a>, which is more dry and not as good in my opinion. These cheesesteak roll has spread beyond Philadelphia &#8212; to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.menupages.com\/philadelphia\/2007\/09\/the_cheesesteak_eggroll.html\">Chester County<\/a>. I found it in Tennessee, because the Chinese family had come from Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>Evergreen has a pizza roll too.
