Given that they are in China, perhaps this is not so surprising (but then again, they <em>did <\/em>chose to meet in China &#8212; neutral territory?). But this brings to mind another &#8220;dining diplomacy&#8221; incident where a Chinese restaurant did play a major role: the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cuban_Missile_Crisis\" title=\"Cuban Missile Crisis from Wikipedia\">Cuban Missile Crisis.<\/a> Emissaries representing President John F. Kennedy and Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev met at Yenching Restaurant in Cleveland Park Washington to negotiate during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  Legend has it that they hammered out the final details, and avoided a war, in the second-to-last booth on the left.
